Strong performance see’s us take the points at UniteMK

A good win against a team with new management and a few unknowns. Zac Ferris, Peter Maxey, Aaron Bhasin and Dale Collins came into the starting eleven from Saturdays win. With Jamie Cox, Jakk Pursey, Charlie Wells, Will Wright and Scott Parker making up the subs bench.
Our plan was to again try and start fast and we managed to do that, a very dubious offside decision in the first minute was a sign of things to come, within 5 minutes we were a goal up, good play down the left saw Darryl Smith drive to the bye line and score well from a very tight angle. A few good chances were passed up before Darryl made it 2-0 when through on goal and side footed into the bottom corner after 19 mins. The goal of the game was scored after the halfway mark of the first half when good play down the left and an interchange between Dale and Scott resulted in Dale putting the ball on a plate for Tommy to score from close range.
Other chances to increase the lead came and went but half time came with the score still 3-0. We talked about keeping the tempo of the game up, we extended our lead after 47 mins, Tommy won an aerial challenge and the ball fell to Dale who finished via the keeper. Tommy then had a goal disallowed for offside again after good work down the left. We made it 5 on the hour mark when Dale won the ball back in our box and broke, Aaron played Scott V in who crossed for Tommy to finish past the keeper. Jakk Pursey replaced Jacob Hack after 62 mins we added our 6th after 71 minutes, short corner is crossed to the back post by Aaron, Dale headed it back across goal for Ross Butler to head in from close range. A few chances were passed up as Charlie Wells came on for Darryl with 14 mins left and should have made it 7 when after good work from Scott and Tommy, Tommy’s cross came to Charlie who could have used any part of his anatomy to score from a couple of yards, except as it turned out his thigh and he blazed over. Will replaced Aaron with 10 minutes left and despite some mighty tackles towards the end the game finished 6-0. A pleasing performance all round the pitch with a clean sheet as well.
Man of the match with 2 goals and 2 assists was Tommy Cooke.
